Last month Elegant Themes gave us a sneak peek of their upcoming Divi 2.4 release and I summarised the major new features in my post Divi theme 2.4: a sneak peek at the goodies to come.
The main delights we have to look forward to are:
- A new set of global settings to customise site-wide elements
- A re-coded fluid and percentage-based grid for greater responsiveness
- Advanced design settings / custom CSS controls for every Divi Module
- The Divi Library for saved Modules, Rows, Sections and whole Layouts
That lot is pretty impressive, but it appears that once Elegant Themes started working on Divi 2.4… they just couldn’t stop adding new features.
In fact, although a version number of 2.4 indicates a minor update, it looks as though it will be the biggest Divi update we have ever seen.

Improvements to the Divi Builder and lots of Divi Customizer options
Elegant Themes’ original sneak peek into 2.4 emphasised the big improvements to the Divi Builder, but they now tell us that they are also adding lots of new options to the Divi Customizer.
These options will give you a much finer and more detailed level of control over your website’s appearance and the graphic below shows you the form that the Customizer will take and gives you a glimpse of just enough features to whet your appetite and get those creative juices flowing.
The Divi community’s input into the Divi 2.4 Customizer
It sounds as though the new customizer will be brim full of new options, but just to make sure that they’ve covered all bases, Elegant Themes have asked the Divi community what they would like to see in the Customizer.
Knowing the Divi community as I do, my guess is that even if Elegant Themes add a fraction of the suggestions they receive, the final version of the Divi Customizer will have more features than you ever imagined, wished for or dreamt about.
Get ready for Divi 2.4 the biggest update in Divi history
I’m guessing that Elegant Themes have called this update 2.4 and not 3.0 because they are saving version 3.0 for the update when the Divi Page Builder is integrated as a plugin. But whatever the version number, make no mistake, this is a massive update that will make life so much easier for the individual website owner and be a creative delight for anyone who designs websites for clients.
From one of Nick Roach’s blog comments my guess is that the 2.4 update will be available towards the end of this month, although I have been way off base with timings in the past so don’t hold me to that!
Latest update on the release date for Divi 2.4
Comment from Nick Roach of Elegant Themes over on the Divi Facebook group page:
“All signs point towards June 10th for Divi 2.4. But like I always say, I only give ETA’s (big emphasis on “estimated”). Less than a month after 2.4 we will be releasing the Divi Builder Plugin, and Extra comes after that. Then we can reveal our big plans for Divi 3.0″
