An overview of the Divi 2.7 features by Nick Roach of Elegant Themes
This short video, by Nick Roach of Elegant Themes, walks you through the new and improved features that have been added to this 2.7 update.
As you’ll see, this is a pretty comprehensive update, packed with features that will save you both time and effort.
I’ll cover all the new features in detail in future posts, but for now let’s take a brief look at the four features that Nick mentions in the video.
#1 – Divi Leads split testing and conversion optimisation system
The Divi Builder makes it easy to create powerful landing pages but don’t you wish that you could compare your landing page layouts to see which convert best? Well now you can with Divi Leads split testing.
Divi Leads is a comprehensive split testing system that works inside the Divi Builder and allows you to carrying out simple testing and conversion tracking in order to increase your conversion rates.
And you’re not limited to testing whole pages; you can test individual Modules or entire Sections of content.
#2 – Enhanced Portability for importing and exporting all your Divi data
Divi 2.7 comes with a custom portability system that makes it easy to import and export Divi Library Packs, Theme Customizer Settings, Theme Options and Divi Roles.
It’s now a doddle to transfer Divi Library items from one website to another, back them up or share them with friends, colleagues and clients.
And as well as being easy to use, the new user interface looks gorgeous and is a delight to work with.
#3 – Divi Builder Page Settings for customising on a page by page basis
Page Settings have now been added to the Divi Builder and can be used to adjust the design and default values for an entire page instead of having to make the changes on a Module by Module basis.
The Page Settings are accessed via the settings icon at the top right of the Divi Builder interface and they include the settings that affect the entire page such as margin and colour defaults. You can also enable/disable page-specific features, such as the new Divi Leads Split Testing system, under Page Settings.
Also found in the new Divi Page Settings is a Custom CSS Box that can be used to add custom CSS to the specific page you are working on… no more adding page specific CSS to your custom CSS area.
#4 – Dynamic Help System to ease the pain and keep you sane
Nothing is more frustrating than something going wrong when you’re working in the Divi Builder interface, but fear not dear friends help is at hand.
When the Divi Builder fails to load, you’ll no longer get the spinning wheel of death with no clues as to what might be wrong. The Divi Builder now knows when it fails and it tries to work out what the problem is.
The Divi Builder now detects common problems and suggests solutions. It will look for things such as memory errors, wp-config misconfigurations, unwanted cached files, outdated theme and WordPress versions, plugin incompatibilities and all the other things that cause you pain and suffering.
Elegant Themes tell us that “This is the beginning to what we hope will become an even more robust self-help system in the future”.
